Data Security in a Changing World

Keynote Presentation - 8:35 am - 9:05 am

We live in the era of digital disruption, when always-on connectivity, a mobile workforce and globalization leave us more vulnerable than ever to cybersecurity assaults. In this brave new world, keeping customer and company data safe is a seemingly insurmountable challenge. In an age of digital evolution, new security strategies are needed to address internet-connected endpoint devices.

IT is often called upon to put out fires, and while priorities are focused elsewhere, data is at risk. What you do not see, can and will hurt you and traditional security solutions alone are not enough to deflect continually transforming threats.

Join Vali Ali, VP, HP Fellow, & Chief Technologist - Security & Privacy for HP's PC Global Business Unit, for a discussion about what can happen without an ecosystem that spans PCs, printers, servers and solutions. This talk will review incidents such as last year's NotPetya ransomware attack, that caused Maersk, the world's largest container shipping company, a monumental effort equivalent to installing an entire new infrastructure from the ground up, and Sony's hack by ?Guardians of Peace? that resulted in a leak of confidential data including personal information, copies of then-unreleased films, and other critical information, before employing malware to erase Sony's computer infrastructure. Ali will demonstrate a live recovery against disruptive malware and will share insights to address the security challenges of today's CISOs.
